One thing that annoyed me last night whilst shopping was the lack of low-carb food on sale. The supermarket in my town obviously has not had many requests for keto dieting stuff. I was only looking for low-carb noodles. (1)
Just had to give up, I ended up buying instant noodles just to try them. They only have 10g carbs instead of the normal ones with 70g. If anyone knows a good place to buy low-carb noodles please leave a comment below. Or just let me know what you are eating for noodles if any at all.
Anyway, when I got home my wife who is also doing the ketogenic diet informed me that there is a nice collection of low-carb food on Amazon. We bought these ones: MIYATA Shirataki, Spaghetti Pasta made with Konjac Flour, Low Carb (6 x 270 g.). We will let you know how they taste in another Blog Post about low-carb noodles. (2)
The instant noodles mentioned above where ok if you have nothing else. We just had a craving for some noodles. I suppose this happens after 3-4 weeks on the Ketogenic diet. Let me know if it is the same with you or have you given up eating noodles totally? We sure are having fun finding out about carbohydrate stuff. To be honest I never looked at the ingredients on packaging before. Silly me that is why I need to lose 30 kilos, well 10 Kilos are gone so only 20 to go.
Never was I a breakfast man, went without until lunch time. But know that has changed. I did mention in an earlier blog post what I have here it is again.
The low-carb Ketogenic diet breakfast
This is for 2 persons my wife and me.
4 eggs from our local farmer, 2 spring onions finely chopped, 6 small tomatoes and a handful of greeted cheese. Bacon 6 strips one packet. I fry the spring onions together with the tomatoes first in coconut oil, then take them out of the pan.
The eggs and cheese with some coconut oil on a small heat and mix around for 2-3 minutes. Then I mix the spring onions and tomatoes in with a bit of salt and pepper, let it slowly cook for another 2-3 minutes, whilst the bacon is cooking in a different pan.
Oh, by the way now and again just put a few slices of lettuce or spinach in. It is fantastic, and the best thing is my wife loves it. (3)
With the keto breakfast and lunch behind me now I feel great, looking forward to my salad tonight. And some nuts of course.
A small bit of motivation for those that are hanging on the fence, wondering if the low-carb ketogenic diet can help you lose some weight. My wife has tried many other dieting things including weight watchers. Nothing helped as good as the keto low-carb diet.
This is my first diet, so I cannot compare but I have seen her struggling with other drinks and stuff. She sure is not having problems with the keto diet. She is enjoying it. She does not want or need to lose as much weight as me but she is doing fantastic.
